I work at the intersection of art, marketing, finance, and infrastructure. I build and manage what exists beyond the studio: art writing and critical reviews, exhibition statements, curatorial framing, proposals for galleries and institutions, grant writing, sponsorship outreach, donor cultivation, bookkeeping, financial systems, and strategic planning. I refine social media presence, clarify brand identity, strengthen collector and donor communications, and develop messaging that aligns artistic vision with sustainable growth.
My career has moved across nonprofits, galleries, artist-run initiatives, and community organizations in Chicago. I have helped build an arts nonprofit from the ground up, led development and communications for exhibitions and citywide programming, managed financial oversight for cultural organizations, and supported public art initiatives at the neighborhood level. I am as comfortable drafting a curatorial essay as I am reconciling budgets or preparing board reports.
Alongside this work, I remain committed to thoughtful arts writing. I have been drawn to reviews that capture the essence of a work, whether visual art, music, literature, or food, in language that is precise yet accessible. In a time when attention is fragmented and depth is often sacrificed, I believe careful writing still matters. Artists deserve language that meets the seriousness of their practice.
In short, if it’s in the arts, I do it!
